METABOLISM
Weight & Metabolic Health
Weight, insulin resistance, and metabolic health — including GLP-1 medications when appropriate, nutrition, strength, and lean muscle.
Metabolic Health
Weight is about more than willpower
Successful weight care should be about more than making the number on the scale smaller. Insulin resistance, thyroid function, hormones, nutrition, sleep, stress, medications, and gut health can all be part of the picture.
GLP-1 medications can help the right patient. They are one tool, not the entire plan. When used, we focus on nutrition, lean muscle, strength, tolerance, and a pace you can sustain.
Blood sugar roller coaster.
Fatigue with central weight gain.
Diets that stopped working.
Where We Begin
Comprehensive Root CauseConsultation
We step back and look at the whole picture — your health history, symptoms, nutrition, medications and supplements, previous testing, treatments you have tried, lifestyle, and goals. From there, we identify patterns and determine what may help us better understand what is contributing to how you feel.
Self-pay telehealth practice. Ongoing care is optional. Laboratory testing, supplements, medications, and continued support are additional. Care complements, and does not replace, your primary care physician.

How It Connects
Systems we evaluate in metabolic care
Insulin & blood sugar
Post-meal crashes, cravings, and abdominal weight gain that suggest metabolic inflexibility.
Hormonal influences
Thyroid, cortisol, and sex hormone shifts that change how your body stores and uses energy.
Inflammation
Low-grade inflammatory states that can impair metabolism and make weight loss resistant.
Sleep & stress
Poor sleep and chronic stress directly affect appetite hormones and metabolic efficiency.
Common Concerns
Symptoms we explore in metabolic care
You do not need a diagnosis before scheduling. These are common patterns when weight resistance, insulin resistance, or metabolic health may be part of the picture.
The scale will not budge.
Difficulty losing weight despite consistent nutrition and movement — or gaining without clear lifestyle changes.
Blood sugar roller coaster.
Intense hunger, shakiness between meals, or needing sugar to get through the afternoon.
Fatigue with central weight gain.
Loss of muscle tone, increased abdominal fat, or feeling puffy and inflamed alongside weight changes.
Diets that stopped working.
Approaches that helped briefly but no longer produce results — suggesting an underlying metabolic shift.
Our Approach
How we address metabolic concerns
Care is individualized. Testing, nutrition, lifestyle, and treatment recommendations depend on your history, goals, and what the evidence supports.
Metabolic assessment
We review prior labs, weight history, eating patterns, movement, sleep, and medications that affect metabolism.
Targeted labs
Fasting insulin, inflammatory markers, thyroid, and other tests when they clarify the clinical picture.
Personalized protocol
Nutrition timing, movement, sleep, stress, and clinically appropriate therapies integrated into a realistic plan.
The Difference
A more connected approach
Weight is influenced by far more than calories alone. We consider metabolism, insulin regulation, hormones, nutrition, sleep, stress, movement, medications, and body composition.
Our Philosophy
“The goal is not simply to lose weight quickly. It is to feel better, function better, and build a strategy you can sustain.”
We protect nutrition, strength, and muscle — not only the number on the scale.
Common Questions
Questions patients often ask
Will Dr. Saara be my primary care physician?
No. This is consultative functional and integrative care. It complements your existing team and does not replace primary, preventive, urgent, or emergency care.
Do I have to choose ongoing care?
No. Ongoing care options are optional. Pay-as-you-go follow-up is available when clinically appropriate: results $250, general follow-up $199.
Where are appointments available?
Virtual consultations for patients located in Florida at the time of the appointment. You must be physically in Florida when we meet.
Do you prescribe GLP-1 medications?
Yes, when clinically appropriate. GLP-1 treatment is used as one part of a broader metabolic plan that also addresses nutrition, strength, muscle preservation, sleep, hormones, and thyroid function when relevant. It is not a substitute for that plan.
