Distension that limits your day.
DIGESTION
Gut & Digestive Health
Bloating, bowel changes, food-related symptoms, SIBO or dysbiosis concerns, and testing only when it would change the plan.
Gut Health
Digestive symptoms deserve more than guesswork
Bloating, abdominal discomfort, constipation, diarrhea, and food-related symptoms can affect how you feel far beyond the digestive tract.
We start with your symptoms and history. Testing is used when it is likely to answer a question — including SIBO or dysbiosis concerns — not as the same panel for every patient. There is no universal gut protocol.
Unpredictable bowel patterns.
Upper GI symptoms.
Symptoms tied to eating.
Where We Begin
Comprehensive Root CauseConsultation
We step back and look at the whole picture — your health history, symptoms, nutrition, medications and supplements, previous testing, treatments you have tried, lifestyle, and goals. From there, we identify patterns and determine what may help us better understand what is contributing to how you feel.
Self-pay telehealth practice. Ongoing care is optional. Laboratory testing, supplements, medications, and continued support are additional. Care complements, and does not replace, your primary care physician.

How It Connects
Systems we evaluate in digestive care
Microbiome balance
Bacterial diversity and overgrowth patterns that may contribute to bloating, irregularity, and systemic inflammation.
Motility & sensitivity
How quickly or slowly the GI tract moves — and whether nerves in the gut are hypersensitive to normal stimuli.
Nutrient absorption
Deficiencies that develop when digestion is impaired, affecting energy, immunity, and hormone production.
Gut–immune axis
Intestinal inflammation and immune activation that can drive symptoms beyond the digestive tract.
Common Concerns
Symptoms we explore in digestive care
You do not need a diagnosis before scheduling. These are common patterns when bloating, bowel changes, SIBO, or food-related symptoms may be part of the picture.
Distension that limits your day.
Abdominal bloating, gas, or pain — especially after meals — that has not resolved with basic dietary changes alone.
Unpredictable bowel patterns.
Alternating constipation and loose stools, urgency, or incomplete evacuation that persists over time.
Upper GI symptoms.
Heartburn, reflux, early fullness, or nausea — including when standard acid suppression has not fully helped.
Symptoms tied to eating.
Increasing food sensitivities, reactions to previously tolerated foods, or fear around eating due to symptoms.
Our Approach
How we address digestive concerns
Care is individualized. Testing, nutrition, lifestyle, and treatment recommendations depend on your history, goals, and what the evidence supports.
Symptom & diet history
We review eating patterns, triggers, prior elimination diets, and how symptoms relate to stress and sleep.
Targeted diagnostics
Stool testing, breath tests, or other evaluation when clinically indicated — with rationale explained upfront.
Layered healing plan
Nutrition, microbiome support, motility strategies, and stress reduction introduced in a sustainable sequence.
The Difference
A more connected approach
Digestive symptoms rarely exist in a vacuum. We consider nutrition, the gut microbiome, medications, stress, hormones, metabolism, and other factors that may influence digestive health.
Our Philosophy
“There is no universal gut protocol that is right for everyone.”
Recommendations may include nutrition, targeted supplementation, medication when appropriate, and stepwise treatment based on your response.
Common Questions
Questions patients often ask
Will Dr. Saara be my primary care physician?
No. This is consultative functional and integrative care. It complements your existing team and does not replace primary, preventive, urgent, or emergency care.
Do I have to choose ongoing care?
No. Ongoing care options are optional. Pay-as-you-go follow-up is available when clinically appropriate: results $250, general follow-up $199.
Where are appointments available?
Virtual consultations for patients located in Florida at the time of the appointment. You must be physically in Florida when we meet.
Will I need an elimination diet?
Not always. Dietary changes are recommended when clinically appropriate and tailored to your symptoms — not as a default for every patient.
Do you evaluate SIBO?
When symptoms and history suggest SIBO or a related gut pattern would change the plan. Breath or other testing is discussed first and is not ordered automatically.
